As Communications Specialist, you'll partner with our VP of Communications to transform ideas into clear, compelling messages that inform, connect, and celebrate our people. You'll collaborate with others across the credit union to tell stories, elevate our brand, and create communications that foster understanding, reinforce culture, and strengthen our community presence. Collaborate across the organization to develop communications that inform, inspire, amplify, and connect employees across all locationsTell meaningful stories. Capture and share the experiences, celebrations, and achievements of our employees and communities through compelling written, visual, and digital content, including photo and video content at community events, team events and branch visitsElevate our brand presence. Assist the VP of Communications with developing and managing a comprehensive social media approach that balances community involvement, product promotion, and organizational branding while strengthening our reputation in the communities we serveStrengthen community connections. Attend community events and volunteer opportunities, create content in real time, and promote involvement that supports both member engagement and recruitment effortsDrive communication excellence. Support managing editor for internal communication channels, maintain voice and visual standards, and partner with leaders to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and impactfulWhat we're looking for:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be consideredFive or more years of professional writing, editorial, and communications experience; credit union experience is helpful but not requiredThree or more years of experience managing professional social media accounts and digital communitiesExceptional written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences, from executive communications to engaging social media contentStrong initiative, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyA deep understanding of social media platforms, community management best practices, and digital reputation trendsProficiency with Microsoft 365; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, social media management tools, intranet platforms, and content management systems is preferredCuriosity, creativity, and a genuine passion for sharing stories that connect people and strengthen organizational cultureConfidence and professionalism in partnering with senior leaders and branch staff alikeWhy Community First?When you join Community First Credit Union, you're not just working at a financial institution—you're joining a cooperative where every member is an owner.
