The Role We are seeking a New York City based Lighting Designer I to join our architectural lighting design team. This role is ideal for a motivated designer looking to grow within a dynamic studio environment while contributing to a wide range of project types. The candidate will work closely with the Senior Designer and Studio Leaders, supporting projects from concept through construction while developing creative and technical skills. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development of lighting concepts and design documentation. Prepare drawings, redline and presentation materials. Support fixture research, specifications and cutsheets. Perform lighting calculations and analysis (Agi32 or similar) Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants. Attend project meetings and occasional site visits. Support project timeline and deliverables. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering or Lighting Design. 1-2+ years of experience in Architectural Lighting Design or equivalent. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Adobe Suites, Revu Bluebeam, Agi32 or other light modelling software, COMCheck or other energy compliancy software. Familiarity with ASHRAE, Title 24, IES Standards, LEED or other energy compliance standards is a plus but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication. On‑site experience is preferred but not required. Ability to travel nationally and internationally preferred. On‑site position. Hybrid time can be considered. Must be fluent in written and spoken English. No relocation provided.
